Chinese Supermarket Robbed in Montego Bay

Latest Jamaica News [ Mckoy’s News ] Chinese Supermarket Robbed in Montego Bay –  Detectives attached to the Barnett Street police station in Montego Bay, St James, have commenced an investigation into a million-dollar robbery which occurred at a Chinese operated supermarket along 36-Market Street, in downtown Montego Bay, St James, on Saturday, September 7.
Reports by the police are that about 6:45 p.m., the 39-year-old Chinese business operator and other employees were at the Weng Supermarket when two men armed with handguns entered the establishment.
The men demanded money, and when their demands were not met they held unto. They held onto the proprietor and hit him in his face with their weapons.
They then proceeded to rob the establishment of US$-2000 and Jamaican $370,000.
They also escaped with the CCTV camera system, the occupant’s cell phones, and a large number of cigarettes and phone cards valued at several million dollars.
