Kingston, Jamaica (McN) – A Canadian woman was arrested at the Norman Manly International Airport on Wednesday for allegedly attempting to smuggle 13 pounds of cocaine valued at more than J$7 million unto a plane.
Reports are that the woman, who is a personal support worker from Ontario, Canada was checking in at NMIA about 12:30 p.m on Wednesday March 1, to board an Air Canada flight to Toronto when she was stopped by detectives from the Narcotics Division.
Her suitcases were searched and 13 pounds of cocaine found.
She is scheduled to appear in the St. Andrew Parish Court on Monday.
