Bus Driver Killed in St Ann Crash

St Ann, Jamaica – A tragic crash along the Llandovery main road on Monday evening has left a young bus driver dead.

The deceased has been identified as 27-year-old Estashie Grant, of Mile End district in Ocho Rios.

Reports are that around 5:15 p.m., Grant was driving a 2014 Toyota Coaster bus along the busy thoroughfare when he collided head-on with a motor truck attached to a tractor trailer.

The impact left the bus extensively damaged, trapping Grant inside. He was later rushed to hospital suffering from severe injuries but was pronounced dead while undergoing treatment.

The crash sent shockwaves through the parish, as residents mourn the sudden loss of the young driver.

Police from the Runaway Bay Traffic Department are investigating the circumstances surrounding the deadly collision.
