Jamaica News, March 10, 2018 – Bus Conductor Fatally Shot
Kingston, Jamaica (McKoy’s News) – A 42-year-old bus conductor was shot to death by one of two armed robbers, during a hold-up which took place while he was working on a bus, Tuesday morning, March 5.
The deceased has been identified as Devon Miller of a Kingston address.
Reports are that about 10:30 a.m., Miller was operating as a conductor on a bus when the two men posing as passengers came on board.
On reaching a section of Mandela Highway, in the vicinity of the White Marl community, both men asked for a stop. The driver complied and as both men were in the process of disembarking, they brandished handguns, held the conductor at gunpoint and demanded that he hand over the money.
The armed robbers took the money by force, while in the process of leaving, one of the gunmen opened fire on Miller, hitting him to his upper body. The gunmen then made their escape on foot in the area.
The police were summoned and upon arrival, the wounded man was transported to hospital where he was pronounced dead.
