Police assigned to the Kingston East Division have laid multiple charges against a Harbour View procurement officer in connection with a fatal shooting involving a relative of his former girlfriend.
Charged is 30-year-old Kevin “Bones” Bailey of Kingston 17. Investigators report that Bailey was taken into custody in St. Mary on Monday after previously being featured on the Jamaica Constabulary Force’s Wanted Wednesdays list.
Bailey now faces charges of murder, wounding with intent, use of a firearm to commit a felony, possession of a prohibited weapon, and unauthorised possession of ammunition.
According to police reports, the incident occurred on November 13 last year at a residence in the 10 Miles area of Bull Bay, St. Andrew. Bailey allegedly went to the home seeking information about his former girlfriend. During the visit, he reportedly drew a firearm from his waistband and opened fire, striking two relatives at the premises before fleeing the scene on foot.
Both victims were transported to hospital for treatment. One of them, 28-year-old truck driver Rai-Ronaldo Fry, was pronounced dead. A female victim was admitted for medical care.
Authorities say arrangements are now being made for Bailey’s court appearance.
