Bob Marley’s Grandson Jo Mersa Died of “acute asthma”

New details about the death of Jo Mersa Marley, the son of Stephen Marley and grandson of Reggae legend Bob Marley, have been revealed.
Documents from the Miami-Dade Medical Examiner’s Office, obtained by Rolling Stone magazine revealed that Jo Mersa, who was asthmatic, died of “acute asthma exacerbation” after becoming infected with the common cold virus.

Reports are that the 31-year-old was found “unresponsive” inside his vehicle in the parking lot of a Ross Dress for Less store on December 26 last year and was later pronounced dead after officers attempted to administer CPR at the scene.

Jo Mersa, according to the Medical Examiner’s Office had a history of asthma, bronchitis and pneumonia and had not been taking his asthma medication at the time of his death.  The report also states that he had also visited a Florida hospital in March 2022 for a chest abscess.

Jo Mersa made his debut in music back in 2014 with a single titled   Comfortable, as well as the EP bearing the same name.  In addition, he featured on the track Light It Up, on Morgan Heritage’s Grammy-winning album Strictly Roots.
