Spanish Town was rocked by two violent incidents within a 24-hour period, leaving one dead and two injured. The first incident occurred around 9:15 PM during a candlelight vigil in Central Village. A motorcyclist, with a pillion passenger, opened fire on the crowd, injuring a 27-year-old man in the leg and a 65-year-old woman in the abdomen and hand. The woman remains in critical condition. Police recovered six 9mm casings from the scene and are maintaining a strong presence to deter further violence.
Less than 24 hours later, at approximately 7:30 PM, 34-year-old Owen Allen was fatally shot after attacking a police officer with a machete. The circumstances surrounding Allen’s confrontation with law enforcement remain under investigation. Authorities are urging the public to stay vigilant as they address the recent surge in violence.
