Portland, Jamaica — The dark saga of convicted murderer Everton ‘Beachy Stout’ McDonald is far from over, as the Portland businessman now faces fresh legal battles in connection with the 2009 murder of his first wife, Marlene McDonald.
Set to appear in court on February 5, 2025, for a case management hearing, McDonald’s history of violence continues to unravel, casting a long shadow over his once-prominent reputation.
McDonald, who is already serving a life sentence for the brutal 2020 murder of his second wife, Tonia Hamilton McDonald, appeared remotely in court on Monday for a preliminary hearing. However, the case was adjourned, adding another delay to the trial that could see him facing even more time behind bars.
Marlene McDonald, 50, was gunned down outside her Boundbrook Avenue home in Portland in 2009, her murder left unsolved for over a decade. But when investigators began probing Tonia’s killing, a twisted trail of evidence led them back to Marlene’s unsolved death, prompting authorities to charge McDonald with orchestrating the murder of his first wife.
The timing is almost poetic. In September, McDonald and his accomplice, Oscar Barnes, were sentenced to life in prison for Tonia’s murder, a case that gripped the nation and left many shocked by the former businessman’s downfall. The two men will serve nearly 29 years before being eligible for parole.
Now, as McDonald awaits the next chapter in court, his once-successful life has become the stuff of nightmares. Represented by attorneys Earl Hamilton and John Jacobs, the convicted murderer’s fate remains uncertain, but what is clear is that this saga is far from over.
For a man who once enjoyed local prominence, the future now holds only more questions—and perhaps, more prison time.
