Montego Bay, Jamaica (McKoy’s News) – Woman on Assault Rap Makes Compensation Payment: A woman who allegedly threw a stone at her brother that missed and caught his baby, has been making compensation payment to the child’s mother.

Nicole Heath, who is of a St. James address, appeared before the St. James Parish Court on Friday to answer to a charge of assault occasioning actual bodily harm.

The prosecution is alleging that on April 23, 2017, Heath and her brother were engaged in a dispute during which she flung a stone at him. The stone missed and hit his baby, who was in the arms of its mother. The baby reportedly sustained bruises and swelling.

The matter was referred to mediation on a previous occasion and Heath had agreed to pay the woman a certain sum of money. In court on Friday, she handed over $3,000 to the child’s mother and has a remaining balance of $6,500.

The matter was set for mention again on September 20 to allow the accused woman sufficient time to secure the balance.
