St Catherine, Jamaica: Armed Robber Fatally Shot – The Independent Commission of Investigation is investigating the fatal shooting of a man by a licensed firearm holder during a robbery attempt in Bay Farm, St. Catherine, on Saturday morning.
The deceased robber has been identified as 28-year-old Michael Mitchell from Jasmine Avenue, Kingston 11.
Reports indicate that around 2:45 am, Mitchell went to a shop and held the occupants at gunpoint.
The licensed firearm holder confronted him, resulting in Mitchell being fatally shot during the altercation.
Upon arrival, the police seized an illegal firearm from the accused, who was pronounced dead at the hospital.
