Jamaica Crime News, Westmoreland: Since the start of the year the parish of Westmoreland had been rocked with a number of murders within several of its communities, and these killings have sent the parish skyrocketing out front, as the parish with the most murders in western Jamaica.
A total of over 125 persons have been shot and killed in the parish of Westmoreland, since the start of 2018.
The latest victim to be killed by gunmen has been identified as 37-year-old Floyd Henry of West End in Negril, Westmoreland. He was shot and killed on Tuesday, November 27.
Reports by the Savanna-la-mar Police are that about 9:00 p.m. on Tuesday, Henry was among a group of patrons at a shop, when they were ambushed by armed men.
The men opened fire on the patrons, hitting Henry multiple times to his upper body.
The police were summoned and upon arrival, the wounded man was transported to the Savanna-la-mar hospital where he was pronounced dead.
