Jamaica News, March 16, 2018 – Alleged Gunman Fatally Shot

St Catherine, Jamaica (McKoy’s News) – A man who the police say was among a group of other men who challenged them in a shootout in Spanish Town, St Catherine, was shot and killed.

The alleged gunman has been identified as Nigel Tulloch, 38-year-old laborer of Salt Pond District also in St Catherine.

Reports by the police are that shortly after 12:30 a.m. on Wednesday, March 14, 2018, a team of officers were carrying out patrol duties in the area when they spotted a group of men along the roadway.

On seeing the police approaching, the men reportedly brandished firearms and opened fire at the police.  The fire was returned and several of the gunmen were seen making their escape in the area on foot.  Following a search of the area, the police stumbled upon Tulloch who was found suffering from gunshot wounds.

He was transported to the Cornwall Regional Hospital where he was pronounced dead on arrival.
