Alleged Gunman Fatally Shot in Kingston

Jamaica Crime News, Kingston: The Independent Commission of Investigation (INDECOM) has now commenced a full investigation surrounding the fatal shooting of an alleged gunman in the Kingston 13 area on Friday night, April 27.
The deceased has been identified as, Nevardo Sterling, 24-year-old unemployed of a Portmore and a Spanish Town address.
Reports are that on Friday night, a team of officers were on patrol along Berwick Road when they saw the accused acting in a suspicious manner.
Sterling then reportedly brandished a handgun and fired at the police party.
The fire was returned, and the accused was shot and killed.
The lawmen indicated that they took a Ruger 9 mm semi-automatic pistol loaded with a magazine containing fourteen live rounds from him.
He was transported to hospital where he was pronounced dead.
