A female was shot and killed, and a man shot and injured, during an incident which occurred in Linstead, St. Catherine, on Saturday, April 6.
The deceased has been identified as Alecia Miller, of Charlemont Housing Scheme, in St Catherine. The identity of the injured man is being withheld pending further investigations.
Reports by the Linstead police are that, shortly after 7:00 p.m., Miller and the male victim were at a shop, which is being operated by the said victim in the vicinity of the Linstead Primary and Junior High School when they were ambushed by armed men.
The gunmen opened fire, hitting both occupants multiple times before escaping from the area.
The police were summoned, and upon their arrival, Miller and the male victim were transported to the hospital where she was pronounced dead, and the male admitted in serious condition.
Miller is the second female to be killed by gunmen in Linstead, over the past month.
