Herzogenaurach, Germany — Adidas has officially settled its legal dispute with Kanye West, concluding a high-profile rift that followed the company’s 2022 decision to cut ties with the rapper. The split came in response to West’s antisemitic comments, which sparked backlash and forced Adidas to reconsider its partnership with the influential artist, known for his popular Yeezy sneaker line.
The settlement, reportedly reached without financial terms, resolves any remaining claims between the parties. Following the split, Adidas continued to release select Yeezy merchandise to recoup losses from unsold inventory, redirecting proceeds to various organizations combatting hate and discrimination.
Adidas and West’s partnership, launched in 2013, proved profitable over the years, propelling the Yeezy line into a billion-dollar brand. However, the dissolution of their relationship marked a challenging period for Adidas, which faced significant revenue losses and stock price dips in 2023.
The settlement now closes this chapter, allowing both parties to move forward after one of the most publicized corporate breakups in recent years.
