Accused Cop Killer Tremaine Harris Faces Additional Robbery Charge

ST ANDREW, Jamaica – Tremaine Harris, the 23-year-old man accused of fatally shooting police Corporal Christopher Smith during a gas station robbery in December, has been hit with another robbery charge.

Harris, already facing murder charges in connection with the December 6th incident on East Avenue, was charged on New Year’s Eve with a separate robbery that occurred on October 12th, 2024.

According to reports, new information linked Harris to a robbery at an apartment building on Clieveden Avenue in Kingston 6. He is alleged to have been part of a six-person group that robbed two individuals of approximately $2 million Jamaican dollars.

The stolen items reportedly included cash, a licensed firearm, a watch, bank cards, and identification cards.

Harris will appear in court on Tuesday, January 14th, to face these new charges of robbery with aggravation, wounding with intent, possession of a prohibited weapon, and unauthorized possession of ammunition.

It’s important to note that the original charges against Harris, stemming from the police officer’s shooting, remain ongoing in court. These charges include murder, possession of a prohibited weapon, unauthorized possession of ammunition, and six counts of robbery with aggravation.

This latest development adds another layer to the case against Tremaine Harris, highlighting a pattern of alleged criminal activity.
