Jamaica Crime News, St Elizabeth: A female is among three persons arrested in connection with the seizure of an illegal firearm and several rounds of ammunition, during an operation carried out in Balaclava District, St Elizabeth on Saturday, September 29.
The names of the three accused are being withheld pending further investigations.
Reports by the Santa Cruz police are that between the hours of 4:00 a.m. to 6:00 a.m. on Saturday, a team of officers carried out an operation at premises in Grange Valley, Balaclava.
During the operation, a house occupied by the three accused was searched and the illegal weapon, a Colt 9mm, semi-automatic pistol, loaded with eight 9mm live rounds, was discovered hidden underneath a refrigerator.
All three occupants, including the female, were taken into custody.
