900 Pounds of Ganja, Two Firearms and Several Rounds of Ammunition Seized at a House in Clarendon

Jamaica Crime News, Clarendon: The police in Clarendon seized 900 pounds of ganja, two firearms and several assorted rounds of ammunition, while carrying out an operation in Portland Cottage, southern Clarendon on Sunday morning, April 28.

Two persons, a male and a female, were taken into custody in connection to the seizures.

According to reports, about 5:30 a.m. on Sunday, a team of officers conducting operations searched a premises and discovered the following items which were seized: One Intratec submachine gun, One Bryco .38 revolver, Two magazines, One hundred 9mm cartridges, Forty-seven .38 rounds of ammunition and 900 pounds of compressed ganja.

The drug has an estimated street value of $4.5 million.

The police have withheld the identities of the persons in custody until charges are laid against them.
