The greatest flood in known history to affect the entire island of Jamaica took place on greatest flood – exactly 40 years ago to date. June 12, 1979
One of its most remarkable devastations is that of the town of New Market in St. Elizabeth which remained under water for several days. The Parrish of St. James was also greatly affected.
