Kingston, Jamaica – A bench warrant issued for dancehall artist Lisa Hyper, born Felicia Gooden, was vacated on Thursday, April 10, 2025, when her disorderly conduct case was called up in the Kingston and St Andrew Parish Court. The warrant had been issued after her absence from the initial court date on February 25.
Defense attorney Petreta Gabbidon presented documentation explaining Gooden’s previous absence, which the court accepted, leading to the warrant’s cancellation.
The charges stem from an incident at Norman Manley International Airport, where Gooden allegedly assaulted an employee during an argument. Reports indicate she used abusive language toward police and airport staff while live-streaming on her TikTok account.
Gabbidon stated that the defense is confident in the justice system and that Gooden is eager to have her day in court. The case is scheduled for disclosure on April 25, 2025.
Gooden, known for songs like “Soul Cry” and “Altitude,” has been open about her mental health struggles. She was previously associated with Vybz Kartel’s Portmore Empire and is set to launch a weekly event, “21 Bad Gyal Fridays,” at 21-23 Holborn Avenue in New Kingston.
