St. Catherine, Jamaica – An 18-year-old resident of Greater Portmore, St. Catherine, has been charged with rape following an alleged incident where he reportedly broke into a woman’s home and sexually assaulted her. The accused, identified as Romeno Mowatt, is alleged to have committed the crime on Thursday, August 8.
According to police reports, Mowatt gained access to the victim’s residence through an unlocked door. Once inside, he allegedly overpowered the woman, holding her down on her bed, where the sexual assault took place.
The victim later identified Mowatt as her attacker, leading to his arrest. After being interviewed by investigators, he was formally charged with rape. Authorities are currently arranging his court date, where he will face the charges against him.
