HANOVER, Jamaica (McKoy’s News) — The Jamaica Constabulary Force (JCF) landed a massive blow to the drug underworld on Sunday, after $150 million worth of cocaine was seized in a pre-dawn raid in Hanover.
The high-powered operation, led by the Counter-Terrorism and Organized Crime Investigation Branch (C-TOC), uncovered 1,000 parcels of the white powder, neatly packaged and ready for big business — but no one was arrested.
Still, the police say the heat is on, and strong leads are being followed to smoke out the key players behind the massive bust.
“This is part of a larger push to cripple the transnational crime syndicates,” said Acting SSP Victor Barrett, who made it clear the net is tightening.
He confirmed that several major figures linked to the drug ring have already been identified, and operations are ongoing under the Focused Deterrence Strategy – the Police High Command’s newest offensive to target high-ranking drug traffickers.
While the blow is major, the work is far from done.
“We’re coming after the bosses,” Barrett declared. “This is just the beginning.”
