14-Year-Old Boy Dies After Car Crash on Chapleton Road

CLARENDON, Jamaica—A 14-year-old boy has died following a motor-vehicle crash along Chapleton Road on Sunday evening.

He has been identified as Jayden Smith of Crawl River district in the parish.

Reports are that around 6:30 p.m., Smith was a passenger in a Nissan motor car when the driver reportedly lost control of the vehicle, resulting in a serious crash. The car was extensively damaged, and Smith sustained severe injuries.

He was rushed to the May Pen Hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries.

The 42-year-old driver of the vehicle has been warned for prosecution, according to police.

The Chapleton Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the crash.
