CLARENDON, Jamaica – An eleven-year-old girl tragically lost her life after being struck by a vehicle in Clarendon on Tuesday afternoon.
The deceased has been identified as Marla Richards, a student of Vere Technical School and resident of Kemps Hill in the parish.
Reports indicate that around 4:00 p.m., Marla was crossing the road near her home when she was hit by a blue Toyota Hiace bus traveling in a southerly direction along the Kemps Hill main road. Despite being rushed to the hospital, Marla was pronounced dead upon arrival.
The Clarendon police have since launched an investigation into the incident, while the local community mourns the untimely loss of the young student.
