Jamaica Crime News, St Elizabeth: A 10-year-old boy lost his life by drowning, after he and his friend reportedly went for a swim in a river located in Haughton District, St Elizabeth on Thursday afternoon, May 10.

The dead child has been identified as, Dwayne Chambers of a Haughton District address.

Reports by the Lacovia police are that shortly after 2:30 p.m., the 10-year-old and a group of boys went for a swim in their community. While swimming, he reportedly got into difficulties and his friends attempted to assist him, but we’re unsuccessful.  They ran for help but upon their return, the boy had already drowned.

The body was later fished from the water and transport to hospital where he was pronounced dead.
