WASHINGTON, D.C. — United States President Donald Trump says the ongoing war involving Iran could end at any moment if he decides to bring the military campaign to a close.
Trump made the remark during an interview on Tuesday while discussing the progress of the conflict, which began in late February with coordinated strikes by the United States and Israel targeting Iranian military sites.
“Any time I want it to end, it will end,” Trump said while responding to questions about the timeline of the war.
According to the U.S. president, the operation has already achieved most of its military objectives. He indicated that many of the intended targets inside Iran have been destroyed, suggesting that the campaign may soon conclude.
The conflict began on February 28 when U.S. and Israeli forces launched coordinated attacks against Iranian military infrastructure, including facilities linked to missile systems and other strategic assets. The strikes marked a major escalation of tensions in the region.
Since then, multiple military operations have been carried out as part of the campaign, raising concerns internationally about the potential for wider instability across the Middle East.
Trump, however, maintained that the situation remains under control and indicated that the timeline for ending the conflict ultimately rests with his administration.
Despite the president’s comments, officials have not announced a formal decision on when the military operations will officially conclude.
