Manchester, Jamaica (McKoy’s News) – A Jamaica Defence Force (JDF) soldier is in hospital after a unit he was driving crashed and overturned in Manchester on Thursday morning.
Reports are that around 9:00 a.m., the JDF vehicle was heading toward Mandeville town centre when the driver lost control at New Green Road. The vehicle veered left, slammed into an embankment, and overturned, leaving the soldier pinned beneath it.
Emergency responders rushed the injured soldier to the Mandeville Regional Hospital, where he remains admitted as doctors assess his condition.
The circumstances surrounding the crash are under investigation, as authorities work to determine what caused the soldier to lose control of the military vehicle.
