Tower Isle, St Mary, Jamaica – The police have launched an investigation into the fatal shooting of well-known St Ann businessman Samuel “Fraughty” Dixon, who was killed at his home in Tower Isle, St Mary, late Monday evening.
According to reports, Dixon had just arrived home around 7:15 p.m. when armed men ambushed him, opening fire on his vehicle. The businessman attempted to flee but was pursued and shot multiple times. He died at the scene.
Originally from Portland, Dixon had built a successful business empire in Ocho Rios, St Ann, where he lived for more than three decades. He owned and operated two gas stations in the town centre, as well as a car dealership and an auto parts store in the White River area.
Beyond his business ventures, Dixon was known for his generosity. In 2017, he donated equipment to the Port Antonio High School and provided beds to the Port Antonio Hospital, earning him a reputation as a community-minded leader.
Residents and business associates have expressed shock and sorrow The police have not yet disclosed a motive for the killing but are urging anyone with information to come forward.
