St Mary, Jamaica – Police have launched an investigation into the death of a 70-year-old man who died on Tuesday after a bar fight in Harmony Hall, St Mary.
The deceased has been identified as Cecil ‘Coochie’ Hamilton, a resident of Harmony Hall.
Reports indicate that Hamilton was at a bar in the community when an argument developed between him and another patron. The dispute quickly escalated, and Hamilton allegedly used a knife to injure the other man during the altercation.
Both men were reportedly asked to leave the bar, and they complied. However, shortly after, Hamilton was discovered unresponsive on the steps outside the bar.
The police were notified, and Hamilton was transported to the Port Maria Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
Investigators are awaiting the results of a post-mortem examination to determine the cause of death.
