ST CATHERINE, Jamaica — Police have charged 29-year-old landscaper Rushane Creary of the Time and Patience district in Linstead following the reported discovery of a firearm and ammunition at his residence.
According to the Spanish Town police, Creary is facing charges for possession of a prohibited weapon and unauthorised possession of ammunition stemming from an operation conducted on January 8.
Law enforcement officials said a team of officers, acting on a search warrant, went to Creary’s home at approximately 7:00 a.m. last Thursday. During the search, a Smith & Wesson 9mm pistol was allegedly found inside a room, along with a magazine containing ten 9mm rounds.
Creary was taken into custody and later formally charged after participating in a question-and-answer interview conducted in the presence of his attorney, police confirmed.
He is scheduled to appear before the St Catherine Parish Court on Friday.
