KINGSTON, JAMAICA – The curfew imposed in sections of the Kingston Eastern Police Division has been extended and will remain in effect until 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday, February 26.
The security measure, which was initially implemented to curb ongoing criminal activities in the area, continued at 6:00 p.m. on Monday, February 24. Law enforcement officials have not disclosed the specific incidents that led to the extension but have emphasized that the curfew is necessary to restore order and enhance public safety.
The curfew covers a wide area, with the following boundaries:
• North: From the Mountain Ridge, extending from Mountain View Primary School to the Cane River Falls.
• East: From Cane River Falls leading towards the bridge at 10 Miles, Bull Bay.
• South: Along the coastline from the bridge at 10 Miles, Bull Bay, to Flag Circle.
• West: Along South Camp Road from Flag Circle to Vineyard Road, then onto an imaginary line leading to Mountain View Primary School.
During the curfew hours, all residents within the designated boundaries are required to remain indoors unless granted permission by the ground commander. Law enforcement authorities are urging the public to comply with the restrictions as they work to stabilize the area.
The police continue to monitor the situation closely and are expected to provide further updates as necessary.
