St. Andrew, Jamaica – A British national was shot and killed in his Belgrade Heights home early Tuesday morning, prompting an intensive investigation by St. Andrew North police. The deceased has been identified as 42-year-old Nicholas Collins, a resident of the community.
According to police reports, at approximately 12:03 AM, residents reported hearing explosions emanating from Collins’s residence. Upon arrival, officers discovered Collins inside the house suffering from multiple gunshot wounds to his upper body.
Collins was immediately transported to Kingston Public Hospital, but tragically succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead.
The Constant Spring Criminal Investigation Branch (CIB) is now leading the investigation into the fatal shooting. Authorities are currently searching for the assailants and are appealing to the public for any information that may assist in their investigation.
The motive for the attack remains unclear at this time. Police are urging anyone with information related to the incident to contact the Constant Spring CIB or the nearest police station.
