Jamaican Violet Moss Brown came the word’s oldest person on April 14, when the previous oldest person, Emma Morano of Italy died
Emma Morano, was on record as the last known person that was born in the 1800s alive. She died tranquilly at her home in Verbania, Italy on Saturday April 14, 2017; at 117 years old. She was born on November 29, 1899.
Violet Moss Brown, Called “Aunt V” of Duanvale in Trelawny, was born on March 10, 1900. She lived at the same home along with her oldest child, 97-year-old Harold Fairweather.
Jamaica’s and the world’s oldest person, Aunt V, as she is affectionate known is a Seventh-day Adventist who credits her long life to her faith in God.
Fairweather, died quietly at home, he was hypertensive and suffered a short illness. He turned 97 on Saturday, April 14, which was the same say his mother became the oldest person alive.
Aunt V has four remaining children.
