Nickiesha Fearon, the St. James woman who allegedly damaged a motor car belonging to the girlfriend of her ex-boyfriend has agreed to compensate the complainant.
The thirty-year-old woman who resides at Albion, St. James, appeared in the St. James Parish Court Friday morning to face a charge of malicious destruction of property.
In Friday’s sitting, the complainant declared to the court that she wants compensation in two installments. But Fearon said she was an unemployed single mother with a young baby and could not manage to pay her back in such a short time span.
After a few minutes of deliberation, the accused woman indicated to the court that she was willing to pay $25,000 per month to which the complainant agreed.
Wong-Small subsequently set the matter for mention on June 7 to allow Fearon time to come up with the first installment and extended her bail.
It is alleged that on January 13 this year, Fearon, who has two children for the complainant’s boyfriend, went to the woman’s home and used a golf course to damage her car. The damage is estimated at $126,000.
In a previous appearance, Fearon explained that on the day in question she sent her son to see his father, and instead of allowing the child to see his father, she said the complainant refused to open the door and instead crack the window and gave the child $500 before sending him away. This, she said aroused her anger which caused her to damage the woman’s car.
