St James, Jamaica (McKoy’s News) –  Woman Walks Free After Damaging Lover’s ShoesA woman who is alleged to have destroyed five pairs of assorted shoes belonging to her boyfriend, was relieved of the charge when she appeared in court on Wednesday.

The defendant, Mellisa Simpson, appeared in the St. James Parish Court to face a charge of malicious destruction of property.

Details of the allegations were not outlined but the court heard that on May 23, 2017, Simpson destroyed four pairs of assorted sneakers and a regular pair of shoes for the complainant.

In court, the complainant told Parish Judge Sandria Wong-Small that the accused woman had compensated him and that he did not wish to pursue the matter any further. He also told the court that they were no longer in a relationship.

In light of what the complainant had said, the court acceded to the complainant’s request and the prosecution offered no further evidence in the matter.
