Jamaica News, St Catherine: A 34-year-old woman died as a result of injuries she received in a motor vehicle accident, which occurred along a section of the Cumberland main road, in St Catherine on Wednesday morning.
She has been identified as Karel Lewis who resided at Newlands in Portmore, St Catherine.
Reports by the Portmore Police are that about 8:45 a.m., Lewis and four other passengers were travelling in a Toyota Harrier motor car along a section of the Cumberland main road.
On reaching a section of the roadway, the driver attempted to overtake another vehicle which was travelling in the same direction and lost control of the vehicle.
The car crashed into an embankment and overturned. Lewis and all five occupants sustained injuries. They were transported to hospital where Lewis was pronounced dead and the other victims admitted in serious but stable condition.
