A 39-year-old woman was shot and killed, and a teenager shot and injured after a lone gunman riding a bicycle attacked them in broad daylight in Portmore, St Catherine on Sunday morning, November 4.
The deceased has been identified as Audrey Francis, who resided at Portmore Lane in Portmore.
Reports by the police are that about 9:00 a.m., Francis and the teenage boy were among a group of persons standing outside a gate along Portmore Lane.
Minutes later, a man rode up on a bicycle and upon reaching in close proximity to the group of persons, he brandished a handgun and opened fire hitting Francis and the teen.
The gunman then made his escape on the said bicycle, while the two wounded victims were rushed to hospital, where Francis was pronounced dead and the teen treated and admitted.
The police were summoned and upon arrival, the scene was processed.
