Jamaica News, March 2, 2018 – Woman Allegedly Commits Suicide

Kingston, Jamaica (Mckoy’s News) – Our News Team has learnt that a female who was taken into police custody on warrant was later discovered dead in the holding area of the Half-Way Tree police lock-up on Thursday night, March 1, 2017.

When contacted the Half-Way Tree police stated that there was, in fact, a female taken into custody who was later discovered dead but they have still not released the name or the nature of her death.

Reports are that the female was brought in shortly after 9:00 p.m. on a Warrant of Arrest.  After several minutes, she was taken to the holding area at the lock-up and left alone. One station guard on duty was alerted by other inmates that the female had allegedly taken her own life.

The female’s body was later transported to hospital where she was pronounced dead.

A special team of investigators was dispatched to the station early on Friday morning and are now carrying out an investigation.
