Jamaica Crime News, St Mary: The Port Maria Police in the parish of St Mary, say they are now making a public appeal to members of the public, for their assistance, to identify the men responsible for the murder of a taxi operator in the parish on Friday morning of July 20th.
The deceased taxi operator has since been identified as Damion Gardener of a Bailey Vale address also in St Mary.
Reports are that about 9:30 a.m., on Friday, Gardener who plies the Bailey Vale to Port Maria route was sitting in the trunk of his Toyota Corolla station wagon motor car at a section of Bailey Vale community.
Minutes later, a motor car with three men travelling on board pulled up beside him, two of the men alighted from the vehicle and opened fire hitting the taxi operator to his upper body.
The men then sped away in the waiting motor car. The police were summoned and upon arrival, Gardner was transported to hospital where he was pronounced dead upon arrival.
The police say they are now asking any member of the public with information that could assist in their investigations to immediately contact the Port Maria Police, 119, Crime Stop, Operation King Fish or the nearest police station.
