Latest Jamaica News, Westmoreland (McKoy’s News): Whitehouse Gas Station Owner Robbed and Murdered – The Whitehouse police in Westmoreland have commenced a search of the parish for armed men behind the brutal attack on a popular service station owner, who was robbed and then shot to death at his home, on Wednesday night.
The deceased has been identified as 54-year-old Shaun Thompson, owner and operator of the Whitehouse Service Station, in Whitehouse, Westmoreland.
Reports by the Whitehouse police are that shortly after 10:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 8, Thompson closed up his business and drove to his home which is located at the upscale housing scheme known as South Sea Park, also located in the community.
Thompson reportedly drove into his yard, parked his vehicle and went to his house. He then remembered that he forgot to close his gates and went back outside.
He was in the process of closing the gate when he was pounced upon by armed men, who held him at gunpoint and robbed him of cash, before shooting him to his upper body.
The police were summoned and upon arrival, Thompson was discovered suffering from gunshot wounds. He was transported to the Savanna-la-mar hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
