Westmoreland Woman Charged for Making False Declaration

St James, Jamaica (McKoy’s News) – Westmoreland Woman Charged for Making False Declaration: A woman who has been charged with making a false declaration will be sentenced on September 1.
Josephine Graham, 49, of Shrewsbury District in Westmoreland, pleaded guilty to the charge when she appeared in the St. James Parish Court on Wednesday.
The court heard that on April 9, 2002, Graham made an application for a passport and submitted an application form in the name Pauline Violet Vassell.
Then on July 16, 2017 during processing of another passport, it came to light that another passport existed bearing her photograph. The accused woman was contacted and she was shown both passports. At that point, she admitted that her name was Josephine Graham and presented school records to substantiate her claim.
When cautioned, she reportedly said, “A mi husband mek mi dweet.
On Wednesday, Parish Judge Sandria Wong-Small made an order for a social enquiry report and sentencing was deferred until September 1.
