Jamaica News, February 25, 2018 – Lottery Scamming Westmoreland Teens

Westmoreland, Jamaica (JCF) – The Negril Police have charged two 16-year-old boys with breaches of the Law Reform (Fraudulent Transactions) (Special Provisions) Act after they were found with identity information in Good Hope in Negril, Westmoreland on Thursday, February 15.

Reports are that about midday officers were on patrol in the area when on reaching a section of the community, one of the teens was seen throwing away a sim card from a cellular phone. A search of the phone revealed identity information of persons living overseas. The other teen’s phone was also searched and over 500 lead sheets were found. They were subsequently arrested and charged.

They are scheduled to appear before the Savanna-la-Mar Family Court on April 04.
