Westmoreland Taxi Operator Stabbed to Death

The Whithorn police in Westmoreland, are now in search of two men, who reportedly stabbed a taxi operator to death at Maross district in Petersfield, Westmoreland, on Monday, after they used pieces of concrete building blocks to hit him.

The dead taxi operator has been identified as 52-year-old Karleneous Barnes, taxi driver also of Morass community.

Reports are that about 12:15 pm, on Monday, Barnes drove his 1996 grey Toyota station wagon motor car to a shop in his community, and while at the location an argument developed between him and two men.

Further reports are that, Barnes went back in the vehicle and was in the process of driving away, when the men used building blocks to smash the front windscreen of the vehicle.

Barnes stepped from the car, but was again attacked by the men who brandished knives, which they use to stab him in the regions of his chest.

Barnes ran inside the shop and collapsed in a pool of blood, while both accused quickly flee the scene.

The police were summoned and upon arrival, Barnes was rushed to the Savanna-la-mar hospital where he died whilst undergoing treatment.
