Westmoreland Taxi Operator Charged with Million Dollar Robbery in St James

Latest Jamaica News, Westmoreland (McKoy’s News): Westmoreland Taxi Operator Charged A Westmoreland taxi operator who broke into a business establishment at Bogue Industrial Estate, between Friday, July 26 to Saturday, July 28, and stole more than $1-million dollar worth of tools and machines, was arrested and charged on Monday, September 16.

He has been identified as 44-year-old Vaughn Davis, a taxi operator of Belvedere district in Westmoreland.

Reports are that the owner of the business located at Lot 6, Bogue Industrial Estate, locked up the building and went home.

Upon his return the following morning he discovered that robbers had cut away the lock to the container and stole a generator, car wash machine, radiators, drills, sanders, gearbox and other items estimated at over a million dollars.

A report was made to the police who visited the location, processed the scene and conducted an investigation.

On September 9, the lawmen made a breakthrough into the case and David was picked up in connection with the robbery.

After being questioned, he confessed to the robbery and took the police to a location where several of the items were recovered.

He was taken into custody and slapped with larceny charges on Monday.
