The police in the parish of Westmoreland say they are still unable to make a breakthrough into the shooting death of a man in the parish on January 1st, 2018 who was also the first reported murder of 2018.

The victim, who has been identified as Carl Malcolm, otherwise called (Bull Frog) 42 year old Cook Shop operator, who hails from Georges Plain, was also the first person to be murdered in the island of Jamaica since the start of the year.

The Frome Police reported that, Malcolm was last seen alive about 12:10am on January 1st Following a New Year’s Eve celebration in the area. Malcolm later headed for his home on his bicycle and that was when residents reported hearing loud explosions.

About 7:00 am on Monday, January 1st, residents in Georges Plain stumbled upon Malcolm’s body and alerted the police. Upon arrival the man known as Bull Frog was discovered lying in a pool of blood on a lawn with multiple gunshot wounds.

Investigators say they are still calling on members of the public for their assistance in solving that particular murder.
