Westmoreland Police Seeking Motorist in Hit and Run Accident, which Claimed the Life of Popular Teacher

Latest Jamaica News, Westmoreland (McKoy’s News):  The Westmoreland police are now asking members of the public for their assistance in apprehending a motorist who was involved in a hit-and-run accident, which claimed the life of male teacher along Kingswood main road, in the parish, on Saturday.

The deceased has been identified as 64-year-old Norman Reid, teacher of Grove Garden, in Savanna-la-mar, Westmoreland.

Reports are that Reid was riding a bicycle along a section of the Kingswood main road, towards Frome.

On reaching the vicinity of Westmore Academy, a motorcyclist who was traveling close behind Reid, failed to keep to his left and collided with a Blue Toyota Mark 11 motorcar, which was traveling in the opposite direction.

The driver of the motorcar then lost control and knocked Reid from the motorcycle. He then sped away, and Reid who was thrown on to the roadway, sustained head and body injuries and was rushed to the Savanna-la-mar hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
