Westmoreland Police Search For Suspect in Murder of Security Guard

Jamaica Crime News, Westmoreland: The police in the parish of Westmoreland say they are now in search of one man for questioning in connection with the murder of a Security Guard, as well as, the shooting and wounding of a teenager at a shop in Whitehall,  Negril on Wednesday night.

The police further stated that the man who is now being sought is wanted for questioning in connection with the murder of Kimani Needham, a 26-year-old security guard of Phase 3 in Tank Hill, Whitehall, Negril and a 19-year-old teenage boy from Georges Plain.

Reports by the  Negril police are that about 11:40 p.m. on Wednesday, July 25, Needham and the teenager were among a group of men at a shop in Whitehall when a man dressed in a Plaid shirt walked up to the entrance of the establishment.

The man brandished a handgun and opened fire on the occupants of the shop,  who ran in various directions to avoid being killed.

The gunman made his escape on foot in the area and the Negril police were summoned to the scene.

Upon arrival of the lawmen,  Needham was discovered lying in a neighboring yard,  suffering from multiple gunshot wounds, while the teen was discovered at another location.

He too was suffering from gunshot wounds.

Both victims were transported to the Savanna-la-mar hospital, where  Needham was pronounced dead and the other man admitted in serious condition.
