Westmoreland Men Charged with Illegal Possession of Firearm and Ammunition to Appear in Court Next Week

Jamaica Crime News, Westmoreland: The Savanna-la-mar police in the parish of Westmoreland, have reported that two men, who were charged with illegal possession of firearm and ammunition on Tuesday, October 9, are booked to appear in the Western Regional Gun Court next week.

The investigators stated that both accused,  Clive James, 26-year-old laborer and Dean Leavy, 22-year-old truck driver, both of Normalcy in Farm Pen, Westmoreland, are expected to be brought to court between Wednesday, October 17 to 19.

Reports by the police are that about 1:35 p.m. on Tuesday,  a team of officers armed with a warrant, carried out a search operation at a house occupied by both men.

During the search of the house,  the illegal weapon,  a. 38 pistol, loaded with three live rounds, was found in a box.

Both James and Leavy were arrested and subsequently charged.
