Westmoreland, Jamaica (Mckoy) – Westmoreland Man Shot Dead: A Westmoreland man was shot and killed by one of two gunmen while at a wake yard been held in the parish on Saturday.
The victim has been identified as Pete Campbell, a 41-year-old farmer of Truro District in Frome, Westmoreland.
Reports by the Frome police are that about 8:20 p.m. on Saturday, January 6, Campbell was among a group of persons attending a wake which was being held in Truro district.
Campbell reportedly walked out of the crowd and walked over to a chicken vendor to purchase grilled chicken.
Immediately two men rode up on a motorcycle and the man on the pillion brandished a handgun and fired several shots, hitting the victim multiple times to his upper body.
The gunmen then made their escape on the motorcycle while the wounded man was rushed to the Sav la mar hospital where he was pronounced dead.
