Jamaica News, April 19, 2018 – Westmoreland Man Murdered in Hanover

Hanover, Jamaica (McKoy’s News) – The Sandy Bay police in Hanover have now commenced a full-scale probe into the shooting death of a Westmoreland man, in the community of Great Valley in the parish between Tuesday night, April 17 to Wednesday, April 18.

The deceased has been identified as 46-year-old Oswald Robinson, of a Lewis Street address in Sav-la-mar, Westmoreland.  An investigation also stated that the deceased is also believed to have been mentally challenged.

The Sandy Bay police have reported that, shortly after 9:30 p.m. on Tuesday, residents in Great Valley community reported hearing a barrage of gunshots being fired in the area.

About 7:30 a.m.,  residents in the community stumbled upon the body of a man which was lying face down in a Calvert in a pool of blood.  Upon the arrival of the police, an investigation revealed that the body was that of Mr. Robinson.

The victim has what appeared to be multiple gunshot wounds to his upper body. He was later transported to the Noel Holmes hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Over the past seven days, the parish of Hanover have recorded four murders in quick succession and this as left the murder count climbing to 15 since the start of the year.
